Christmas is coming soon!

It's been a while since I have had the chance to update my blog. I have been busy after Halloween and then came Thanksgiving. My Thanksgiving was filled with family and friends. My favorite dish I had was the cherry pie!

This past weekend my family and I went to Nashville to see the Christmas lights outside. We stayed in a hotel and saw two shows: Rockette's and Ice. We ate out and tried some Greek food.

Today I saw Sam for the first time in 2 weeks! At the office, I did a lot of filing work. After work we went to Target and Christmas shopped. I still need to purchase some gifts for my family but I did get some items today.

almost Halloween!

I am excited that it's almost Halloween! I get to help pass out popcorn from our driveway. We have been handing out popcorn to kids in the neighborhood for many years on Halloween! I also help my dad make the popcorn. It's neat to be able to pass out something other than candy.

I predict that it's going to be a chilly Halloween.

In other news, my family and I recently to a trip to the Smokey Mountains. We were gone for 4 days and it was wonderful to be in a quiet and relaxing place and to not have to think about work! I played tennis in the mountains with my dad. I hope to play more tennis soon.

Today

Today I am helping Andy move. He leaves tomorrow for his new job. Last week Sam helped me learn to make brownies. They were delicious! I have enjoyed learning how to cook and bake.

For the past two weeks I have been busy working. My work schedule has changed and I am now off on Tuesdays and working at Lifeway on Fridays.
I was sad to learn that my friend, Andy will be moving away soon. He has accepted a new position as a church pastor in West Lafayette, IN. I wish him and his family all the best and will miss spending time with him very much.
Today I am planning to make a pizza dinner for my family. It will be the first time I have ever cooked for them. I am excited to learn more about cooking and ways that I can help out around the house. I will be sure to post pictures of the final product...if I can get to it before everyone eats it up! I doubt that there will be any leftovers. My family and I love pizza!

Wow! It's been such a long time since my last post. Lots has happened to me since then that I would like to share with you. I have made two new friends, Sam and Sarah. They are great and have almost the same cars. I love riding in both of them! One is a Yaris and one is a Fit. Here is a picture of me standing next to Sam's tomato red Honda Fit.

Last week I used my pretzel making kit that I got for my birthday. Sam helped me roll out the dough and we made lots of fun designs. They were delicious!

Today Sam and I enjoyed the beautiful weather and walked around the park. I took a few photos and got some good exercise. Here is the best photo from the park today

I am VERY excited to go back to work at the bus compound. I get to start back there in just a few days. I will be busy once that starts because I will have 3 jobs during the week. I am still at Dr. Hurm's and Lifeway bookstore.

Hope this post finds you doing well. I have missed updating my bog and look forward to updating it again on a regular basis.

Down with FSC!

For the last month or so, I have been volunteering at Franklin Street Church in Louisville, KY. Most Saturdays I visit, I help a woman named Elo Bratcher maintain a clothe and food room. This room provides clothes and food for those in need. Sometimes I help paint rooms, like the youth room in the video above.

Volunteering at FSC makes me feel really really great. I love to work with Elo and the people at the church have been awesome. Here is a short video that Jason and I put together to show you what I do there. I hope you enjoy it.

This last Christmas my parents surprised us with a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida. We left Thursday December 17th and came back on Christmas Eve. It was a wonderful gift and we had a lot of fun. Here is a short picture video of our trip. I hope you enjoy it!
